This seminar presents the neuroanatomy of the visual system and its importance in the development of movement, posture and sensorimotor function. The role of the visual system as a primary integrating system of all other sensory systems is presented with emphasis on the overriding influence of the visual system in learning, memory and motor control. Topics include: The Development of the Eye, Maturation of the Visual System, Basic Structures of the Eye, Vergence and Version, Strabismus, Visual Fields & Visual Pathways, The Occulo-Vestibulo-Cervical Triad, Parallel-Distributed Processing, The Role of the Cerebellum in Motor Control and Vision.
